What is the signature size for RRB NTPC and Group D forms?

How to use RRB NTPC and Group D Signature Resizer
- Sign in black ink on white paper in running handwriting, then photograph or scan it.
- Click Select signature. The paper is whitened and the signature is centred automatically.
- Adjust the box if needed and click Resize signature.
- Upload the JPG (30 to 49 KB) to the RRB application.
RRB NTPC and Group D upload rules
Railway Recruitment Boards now capture the candidate's photograph live and ask only for a signature image. As per CEN 06/2025 (NTPC Graduate), CEN 07/2025 (NTPC Undergraduate) and CEN 09/2025 (Group D, Level 1), the photo is taken through your webcam or phone's front camera during the application, so there is no photo file to upload. The signature, however, has strict rules and is a common reason for rejection.

What are the RRB signature rules?
- JPG or JPEG, between 30 KB and 49 KB. This minimum is higher than most forms, so a tiny file will be rejected even if it looks fine.
- At least 140 × 60 pixels, scanned at 100 DPI or more.
- The signature must sit in the centre of a 35 mm × 20 mm area. This tool makes the image 413 × 236 pixels, exactly 35 × 20 mm at 300 DPI, and places the trimmed signature in the middle with even margins.
- Sign in black ink on white paper in running (joined) handwriting. Block or capital letters are not accepted.
- A non-white background, ink that is not black, or a thumb impression instead of a signature leads to rejection.
Because black ink is required, set Ink to Make ink black if your pen was dark blue and the photo looks bluish. The cleanup makes the paper pure white, which also meets the white background rule.
Live photograph
There is no photo file to upload, so this tool has no photo preset for RRB: a resized passport photo is not needed for the current CENs. For the live photo, the CEN asks you to wear clothes that are not white, keep the camera at eye level, keep your eyes fully open, and not wear a cap, mask or glasses. Sit facing a window or lamp so your face is evenly lit, and check that your camera works before you begin the form.
Older notifications
Earlier Railway notifications, such as CEN 08/2024, allowed a photo upload with different sizes. The rules above are for the 2025 notifications. Always follow the CEN you are applying under.
Check before you submit
The result panel shows the pixel size, the exact number of bytes and a tick when the file is inside 30 to 49 KB. Open the downloaded JPG on your phone to make sure every stroke is visible. If thin parts of the signature have disappeared, lower the cleanup strength and resize again.
