How does it work?
Word documents can reflow when opened on another computer, which could move your signature away from the line. So the document is first converted to PDF on our server, which fixes every page exactly as it looks in Word. The page previews then load in your browser, where you place and size your signature. The signature itself is applied in your browser; only the document conversion uses our server, and the uploaded file is deleted immediately after it is converted.

Why the result is a PDF
A signed document should not change after signing. A PDF keeps your signature exactly where you placed it and looks the same for everyone. It is also what most people expect to receive back. If you need to fill in text fields too, add them before downloading.
Is an electronic signature legally valid?
In India, the Information Technology Act, 2000 recognises electronic signatures, and many countries have similar laws. A drawn or typed signature image is a simple electronic signature: widely accepted for everyday agreements, offer letters and internal approvals. Some documents need a stronger, certified signature, such as Aadhaar eSign or a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC), and a few, like certain property documents, still need ink. When in doubt, ask the person or organisation receiving the document what they accept.
Tips
- Sign in dark blue or black ink for uploaded signatures; photograph in daylight on plain white paper.
- Keep the signature proportionate to the signature line; oversized signatures look odd when printed.
