How to use Remove Background from Image
- Click Select images, drop photos onto the box, or paste one with Ctrl+V. You can add several at once.

What does this background remover do?
FixDoks finds the main subject of a photo, such as a person, a product, a pet, a car or a logo, and makes everything else transparent. The result is a PNG file with a see-through background that you can drop onto a slide, a poster, a product listing, a thumbnail or a WhatsApp sticker.
It uses an image segmentation model called ISNet, which was trained to separate foreground objects from their background. The model gives every pixel a value between fully background and fully subject, so soft edges like hair and fur fade out smoothly instead of being cut with a hard line.
Replace the background, not just remove it
Once the cut-out is ready you can change the background without running the AI again:
- Transparent: a PNG with no background at all.
- Colour: any solid colour, for example white for online shops or blue for ID cards.
- Image: put the subject in front of a photo of your choice. The new background is scaled to fill the frame.
- Blur: keep the original scene but blur it, like portrait mode on a phone camera.
Tips for the cleanest cut-out
- Use a photo where the subject is in focus and clearly separated from the background.
- Good light helps. Very dark photos or subjects the same colour as the wall are harder to separate.
- For group photos or busy scenes, the model keeps what it thinks is the main subject. Crop the photo first if it picks the wrong thing.
- Fine hair against a busy background may show a faint halo. Placing the result on a similar colour hides it.
Transparent PNG or JPG?
Only PNG (and WebP) can store transparency. If you save as JPG, transparent areas become white, because JPG has no transparency. Choose PNG when you want to place the cut-out on top of something else later. Choose JPG with a colour background when you need a small file for upload forms, since JPG files are usually much smaller.
Batch processing
Add several photos at once and they are processed one after another. When all are done, click any row to preview it, then use Download all (ZIP). Changing the background colour updates every image instantly.
Speed and device support
The model runs in your browser. On a computer with a recent version of Chrome or Edge it can use the graphics card through WebGPU, which is fast. Otherwise it runs on the processor, which usually takes 5 to 20 seconds per photo on a laptop and a little longer on a phone. Very large photos are reduced to 4096 pixels on the longest side before processing.
