How it works

- Exact KB. The tool searches for the highest JPG quality that stays under 50 KB, and makes sure the file is not below 20 KB. If a small photo cannot reach 20 KB even at top quality, it pads the file safely.
Change the numbers for your form
Use the preset list for common sizes, or type any width, height, minimum and maximum KB. Some forms say "maximum 50 KB" with no minimum; set the minimum to 0 for those. For a physical size such as 3.5 × 4.5 cm, choose the passport preset at 200 or 300 DPI.

Why 50 KB and not 49 KB?
Portals count kilobytes differently: some use 1,000 bytes, others 1,024. The tool keeps the file under 50 × 1,000 bytes, so it passes either way.
Why the photo is cropped first
If you resize a full-length photo straight to 200 × 230 pixels, your face ends up tiny and unrecognisable. Forms want a passport-style head and shoulders shot, so the crop step comes first. The dashed oval inside the box shows roughly where the head should be: top of the hair near the upper line, chin near the lower line.
If the upload still fails
- Check the form's exact pixel size. Not every portal uses 200 × 230, so match the numbers in your form's instructions.
- Check the format. A few old portals accept only files ending in
.jpg, not.jpeg; the file from this tool ends in.jpg. - Clear the browser cache or try another browser if the portal keeps showing an old error.
- Rename the file without spaces or special characters if the portal complains about the name.
