What are the photo and signature sizes for JEE Main?
For JEE Main, use FixDoks's JEE resizer to make a photo of 10 to 200 KB and a signature of 10 to 100 KB, both as JPG files, as the current NTA information bulletin states. Older bulletins mentioned 300 KB for the photo, so this tool uses the newer 200 KB limit to stay safe.

How to use JEE Main Photo and Signature Resizer
- Pick the document tab (photo, signature and so on) and click Select to add a photo or scan from your phone or computer.
- Drag the crop box so the face or signature fills the frame. Signatures are cleaned and trimmed automatically.
- Click Resize. The file is made at the exact pixel size and inside the KB range, and downloads straight away.
- Repeat for each tab, then upload the files to the application form.
JEE Main photo and signature
For JEE (Main), the National Testing Agency asks for two images in the application form: a photograph and a signature. As per the NTA information bulletin for JEE (Main) 2026 (revised in November 2025), both are JPG files. The photograph must be between 10 KB and 200 KB and the signature between 10 KB and 100 KB.

Photo rules in the NTA bulletin
NTA asks for a recent photograph in which the face covers about 80% of the image, with both ears clearly visible, against a white background. Masks are not allowed. NTA does not give a pixel size, only the KB range, so this tool uses standard passport proportions (3.5 × 4.5 cm) at 413 × 531 pixels, which looks clear and lands comfortably inside the range. Crop tightly: the dashed oval shows roughly how large the face should be, and you can make the box smaller so the face fills more of the frame.
Live photo
NTA forms also capture a live photograph during the application. Sit in good light in front of a light wall, face the camera and keep your ears visible, just like in the uploaded photo.
Is it 10 to 300 KB or 10 to 200 KB?
Some websites still quote 10 to 300 KB for the JEE Main photo, from older bulletins. The 2026 bulletin says 10 to 200 KB. This tool uses 200 KB as the maximum, so the file will be accepted under either rule.
Signature
Sign with a black or blue pen on white paper, take a clear photo, and upload it in the Signature tab. The tool whitens the paper, darkens the ink, trims the margins and saves a JPG between 10 and 100 KB. NTA does not prescribe signature dimensions, so the natural shape of your signature is kept.
Same photo for the whole session
JEE Main has two sessions. Use the same photograph for both, and keep printed copies of that photo for the exam day, as the admit card may ask you to paste one on the attendance sheet. The passport photo maker can print a sheet of them.
