Banks, SIM card shops, landlords, schools, offices and many government counters ask for a "self-attested copy" of your Aadhaar with both sides on one page. Taking good photos of the card
Place the card on a dark plain surface so its edges stand out. Hold the phone directly above it, parallel to the card, to avoid a trapezium shape. Avoid glare from lights on the glossy surface by tilting the light, not the phone. Fill most of the frame with the card for the sharpest print.
Protect your copy
Write the purpose and date across the copy when you self-attest it, for example "For SIM verification only, 26/09/2026". For digital copies you share on WhatsApp or email, add a tiled text watermark with the watermark tool.
