Square suits Instagram posts and WhatsApp. 4:5 portrait fills more of the screen in feeds. 9:16 is for stories and status updates. 16:9 fits presentations and YouTube, and A4 portrait is ready to print. Choose 1080, 2048 or 3000 pixels wide: 1080 for social media, larger for printing.

Printing a collage
For a printed collage, choose the 3000 pixel width and A4 portrait or a 4:3 shape, and save as JPG. At 3000 pixels wide an A4 print comes out at roughly 360 DPI, which is sharp. Leave some spacing so the printer does not cut photos at the edge, and use a white background for a classic photo album look.
Before and after collages
For renovation, fitness, cleaning or repair comparisons, use One row with two photos, a 16:9 or square shape and a small spacing. Take both photos from the same spot and angle so the comparison is fair, and add labels afterwards with the meme generator using caption bars.
