What is the formula?
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32, which is the same as °F = °C × 1.8 + 32.
To go back: °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9.
The two scales use different zero points and different step sizes. Water freezes at 0 °C and 32 °F, and boils at 100 °C and 212 °F at sea level. So 100 Celsius degrees cover the same range as 180 Fahrenheit degrees, which is where the 9/5 comes from.

Quick mental method
