How do I remove a password from a PDF?
To remove a PDF password, upload the file to FixDoks's Unlock PDF tool, type the password you already know and click Unlock PDF. How to use Unlock PDF (Remove Password)
- Click Select PDF files and choose the locked PDF.
- Type the password you use to open it. Leave the box empty if the file opens freely but blocks printing or copying.
- Click Unlock PDF and download a copy that opens without a password.
Stop typing the same password every time
Bank and credit card statements, salary slips, Form 16, insurance policies, e-tickets and many e-statements arrive as password-protected PDFs. That protection is useful in your inbox, but it becomes a nuisance when you need to open the file every week, merge it with other documents, upload it to a loan or visa portal that rejects encrypted files, or convert it to Excel. Unlock PDF saves a copy without the password.
Two kinds of PDF protection
Open password (user password)
The PDF asks for a password before showing anything. To remove it, type the password in the box. FixDoks opens the file with it and saves an unencrypted copy. Statement passwords are often built from details like part of your name and your date of birth or customer ID; the exact format is usually printed in the email that came with the statement.
Restrictions only (owner password)
The PDF opens without a password but will not let you print, copy text, fill forms or edit. Leave the password box empty. FixDoks removes the restrictions so you can print and copy normally.
What we do not do
This tool does not guess, crack or bypass open passwords. If you do not know the password, it cannot open the file. That keeps other people's documents safe, and it is also a matter of the law: only unlock documents that belong to you or that you are authorised to use. If you have lost the password to your own statement, ask the sender (your bank or employer) for a fresh copy.

Unlocking on a phone
Statement PDFs are often opened on phones. This page works in mobile Chrome and Safari: select the PDF from your downloads or the email app, type the password, and download the unlocked copy. The unlocked file then opens instantly in any viewer without asking again. Keep it in a safe place, since anyone with the file can now read it.
The password is used only to open your file during the conversion. The PDF, the unlocked copy and the password are deleted from our server immediately after the download is sent, and nothing is logged.
